How do you know if your new home has a septic system?
• You live in a rural area
• You are on well water
• Your water line does not have a meter where it comes into the house
• Your neighbors are on a septic system
How to find your septic system on the property?
• A civil engineer can determine where your septic field and lids are.
• Inspect your yard for caps, lids, or manhole covers
• Request a copy of the ‘as built’ drawings for your septic system or check with the county records department, i.e. Permit Sonoma or Napa County. Search by your address and APN #.
