We recently completed a grading and drainage project for a West Sonoma County client’s new residence. In addition to site grading and drainage improvements, this project required an encroachment permit.
Encroachment permits are required when you propose improvements within the public Right of Way. For this project it included improving an existing driveway connecting to the public roadway.
Working with the client, county, and site contractor we provided a site plan depicting the grading and drainage requirements as well as the required traffic plan, calculations, and forms to obtain the permit.
Site inspections were conducted during and after the completion of the project with the county signing off on the grading and encroachment permits to close the loop. This allowed the client to close their Building permit and obtain occupancy, thus ending their construction insurance requirements.
All rural sites are unique, requiring specialized knowledge to comply with county regulations and assisting the client in realizing their vision in a manner compliant with codes. We tackle whatever comes up to help ensure your project progresses, navigating the county’s system as best as possible. It can be challenging speaking the language of an agency, so having a team that understands and has years of experience to guide you is one key to the success of your vision.
